Do you wear eye makeup more than 3x a week? How do you remove your eye makeup? If you have sensitive eyes, a good makeup remover can be vital to the skin around your eyes, no matter how old you are. I myself, wear contacts, and my eyes are tired and sometimes red after a long day. Once I remove them, I head to get my almay oil free eye makeup remover in the 40z liquid. i love it because with little effort, it removes all eye makeup without having to tug and rub harshly, an action that can have you with premature wrinkles. The key to a younger face is preventing wrinkles and keeping it healthy. it also removes tiny particles that can get embedded in the skin, causing dryness and eye IRRITATION. This is my favorite eye makeup remover. I wear contacts, and have extremely sensitive eyes. I love this formula, it doesn't feel rough on my skin, I just put a small amount on a cotton ball and remove my makeup gently with this. No dryness and it works so well that I dont' have to tug on my skin (which causes wrinkles) I think these old school products get overlooked sometimes but they really really do a great job, Thats why I love it and recommend it to friends. I also have the SIMPLE brand eye makeup remover and it is not as effective or gentle as this.the bottle will last longer that the eye pads and wipes, this is why i strongly recommend almay brand oil free eye makeup remover! sHOP HERE https://amzn.to/2KosF0a
WHY EVERY SERIOUS MAKEUP ARTIST SHOULD ATTEND IMATS A.KA. INTERNATIONAL MAKEUP ARTISTS TRADE SHOW WWW.IMATS.NET By Diana Rangel UPDATED Back in the late 90's I was just about DONE with office work and I wanted some excitement in my work life. I had worked as a Telemarketer, Office Manager, Life Insurance sales, Account Executive and PC sales chick and was very bored. I hated dealing with office politics and still do. I like my freedom. I wanted to be my own boss and have control. At that point I was very energetic and I wanted to incorporate my love of drawing into a business. I noticed all the fun MAC makeup artists seemed to be having in the Macy's at the West Covina Mall ( a suburb of LA) and was intrigued. I thought, Why not make women feel beautiful and still be able to draw but NOT on paper this time? At that time, I had a friend who worked for MAC and seemed to live a FUN life, while remaining artsy and that- seemed ideal. But I wanted more than the makeup counter, I wanted to be a Freelance Makeup artist for FILM or Television and be on sets. That seemed so interesting and respectable and oh so artsy. I imagined myself on set in some crazy location or inside a studio doing big things. How Could I be sure this was the life for me? I would have to be exposed to makeup artist CULTURE or hubs in order to find out if I was one of them. But where? I found the right place at IMATS in Pasadena CA in 2001. It has always been a 3 day event and this year its been 20 years since Michael Key and Makeup Artist Magazine produce this mega-ever-so-growing event. You know Comicon, right? Well this is the same thing, to the makeup artist community but without any cosplay. I would get to hear keynote speakers that were in film and really making it in the business and get really close to this environment. This was a breeding ground for budding MUA's and a necessity for experienced makeup artists already in the business. I was so impressed at all the booths for different makeup brands, shops and special effects companies from all over the country. People from all over the world attend to get very impressive discounts and equally important instructors. forward 14 years of doing makeup on film, tv, photography and special effects. This year IMATS falls on January the 13-15. There you can see live Demos of makeup artists doing elaborate makeups either in contests or simply to promote the product sponsor. You could hit about 200 active booths full of makeup brands, companies, schools and FX. Booth's such as Anastasia, NYX, Sugarpill, Wolfe, Kat Von D and others may have the actual CEO's there such as Anastasia. You may even get a photo op with a famous Makeup impresario. I saw Kat Von D at her booth last year 2016 taking pics with fans of her wildly successful makeup line. I've caught Makeup Celeb Vloggers like Jeffree Star a booth picking out lip tar a couple years back. I want to meet Kandee Johnson most out of that bunch and Wayne Goss is really cool in my book. Something about the way he Vlogs that shows a very chic professional guy getting it done. What I really dig though, and what really made me want to go to a makeup school was being able to hear what the TOP DOGS in makeup are like. Award-winning artists such as Ve Neil, Todd MacIntosh etc. get a chance to give seminar courses and hear them talk about the business. THIS IS THE REAL PAYOFF and if you can't see that, please take my advice and hear them speak. You can also watch Demos by OSCAR award-winning artists. I don't get caught up with the small-fish vlogger drama, I like to pay attention to the Speakers giving tips. That is the best way to economically advance your makeup business, by learning. No where can you BUY makeup and LEARN makeup in one spot for 3 exciting days like at IMATS. Pasadena Convention Center is where it will take place this year. GOLD SILVER AND WHITE RED AND BLUE Pro-card holders get a sneak preview on Fridays, where the general public is NOT allowed. This gives pros an opportunity to take our time, and speak with other MUAs and the booths can give us that extra attention we need. It is a place BY MUA's for MUA's that are deep in the business. Saturdays and Sundays are very crowded with people trying to get the deals but its almost not worth it for me, because going Friday is much more convenient. But catching special Speakers on Saturday and Sunday is the only time I like to go again, and there is always someone extremely interesting talking. This Sunday the Cast and Makeup team of the LOST BOYS movie will attend and special guest speakers and give us a glimpse at makeup done for the film. Experts give us a bit more insight into their lives here and gives us a glimpse into this business. If you are in it for the glamour and fame, I doubt you'll truly succeed. This job takes extreme sacrifice and its finally being noticed by the masses. I know this year will break attendance records and it will continue to grow by leaps and bounds. I usually go alone to SOAK up the experience Lone-wolf style but this year I will have a guest with me. Im very excited. WHAT I USUALLY BUY AT IMATS Every makeup artist is different and has different needs and clientele, so I will only state what I'm looking forward to buying this year. Anastasia Lip Pallete – It sure looks like the HOT item to get so I will be able to check it out. Im tired of making my own, and I get a sick discount. Wolfe FX body Paint makeup- Why? because its amazing and it's bright body paint that is non toxic and good quality, not to mention, stackable watercolors! This is the only place you can get a great deal besides Naime's, Frends beauty and such. But here I can talk to the actual brand and get that extra insight into the brand. My no-fail brand! I also stock up on sponges, brush cleaner, tools and other off the wall items you cant find anywhere else. Try the Graftobian or RCMA brand, it is used in Television and film and its much better priced than the popular brands and gives you the edge on your business. In conclusion, GO to IMATS if you're curious about Makeup Artistry or just a big fan of makeup and the people applying it. You cannot go wrong at this amazing convention!! PS. BUY LASHES!!! Oh, and the film set thing, it happened! for tickets visit www.imats.net to email me [email protected] add me in instagram @dianarangelmakeup

July 21st, 2016MY THOUGHTS/TIPS ON THE JOHNNY RAMONE TRIBUTE 2016 @ Hollywood Forever Cemetery This event started in 2004 and I've been going since 2005. I think. Its my TOP LA event and I've only missed one year in protest- my reasons were posted when it happened. I WROTE THIS BLOG IN 2016 SO PLEASE BE AWARE THINGS MAY HAVE CHANGED, CHECK RAMONES.COM FOR NEW EVENTS ETC. ARRIVING THERE Early arrival is very encouraged, because the stuff that happens BEFORE the movie begins is the best. LATECOMERS SHOULD USE UBER TO GET IN LINE FASTER. I say stay home if you're gonna come late, the best part is being there during the daytime, set aside the day and plan on being there by 5pm to grab a spot in line, bring alot of thick blankets and food, beer/wine, cheese or any snacks. You will also miss the punk rock celebrities that tend to talk to the public and you can also see the splendor of the Hollywood Forever grounds, which are amazing and rich in Hollywood history. hollywoodforever.com/culture/ Kids are Free but people will be DRINKING at this event, don't expect a G RATED audience. Better go super early because this year will get super packed like NEVER before due to all the publicity from KLOS. ONCE INSIDE MUST DO: once you enter the cemetery- go sharply left THEN RIGHT after the bird cage and you'll end up at the grave of Dee Dee ramone, the only Ramone buried in la. Johnny ramones statue will be close to the event area, next to the main mausoleum. He is NOT buried there, his wife has his ashes at home but they will be transferred there after her death I assume. Metallica's kirk hammett will be displaying his art and collectibles inside the mausoleum. Jenny Lens, the legendary photographer of punk in the late 70's/early 80's will be there displaying her Ramones photos. She is also a friend of mine and very nice to me. You can support her work here: https://amzn.to/2PUnFRT People I've met there: Henry Rollins, PJ Soles, Monte A. Melnick, Arturo Vega (RIP) Tommy Ramone (RIP) Marky Ramone, CJ Ramone, Jerry Only Some were official meet n greets, others were spontaneous. I've also spotted Lisa-Marie Presley, John Waters, Johnny Depp was a circus lol, Dita Von Teese,Morissey Tracey Lords n Many many more people. Once it gets dark walking around the cemetery is not recommended unless you know the layout really well. The Security team is very alert- although very professional here. COME EARLY and bring a cooler with drinks and food and this will be enjoyable. If you are coming after dark, you will be assed out of places to lay the blanket at and will have to buy overpriced drinks and food at food trucks. You'll definitely miss the show waiting in a long line. This year, john doe from the band X will be conducting a q & a session with the cast of the Ramones movie Rock & Roll High School . Any true Ramones fan should check it out. Try to bring a thick blanket and put a sheet over it. preparation is key to enjoyijng this extremely unique event. it may even be the last year that it happens. I gotta give it to Linda Ramone, widow of Johnny Ramone the guitarist for keeping the legacy alive I have expressed mixed emotions about things this event could do but it would require divulging DRAMA and I would like to avoid that when it comes to my favorite band. I was not there and cannot sufficiently comment without being somewhat judgmental and that's not a good look. Kids are free this year but remember, punks will be in attendance, being....punks. this may not be the quietest movie going experience, that's for sure. Do not forget: buy a licensed ramones t-shirt from the tents - super quality hard to find items that dont get sold everywhere and you can beat the Shipping fees Presented by Linda Ramone: The Johnny Ramone Tribute is a fundraising event for the Johnny and Linda Ramone Foundation, which provides funding for Dr. David Agus at the Center for Applied Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine at USC.- Hollywood Forever website page http://hollywoodforever.ticketfly.com/event/1205111-johnny-ramone-tribute-2016-los-angeles/ TO BUY TICKETS Diana Rangel instagram: dianarangelmakeup [email protected] like me on facebook https://www.facebook.com/MAKEUPBYDIANARANGEL ESSENTIAL RAMONES MUSIC & BOOKS! My memories of Cliftons, L.A's Old school Cafeteria..and its other locations you'll never see again.
I've been going to Clifton's Cafeterias (yes there were more than one) since the early 1980's when Downtown Los Angeles was the grimiest, filthiest, scummiest city hub ever.
in the 80's, President Reagan had set the mentally Ill, plus criminals free to roam the streets and to pretty much die there, plus street crime was very high. The reason I was always there was my mom, she was always a hustler. No, not THAT kind of hustler, but as an immigrant with 2 kids who had alot of pride, she refused to go on Welfare or food stamps and sold different items to the people she knew and their friends, church friends, etc. One of the things she did on the side, because she worked 40 hours a week as a seamstress, was sell gold jewelry. So we always went to Downtown LA off of Broadway and 7th (one block from where Id live as an adult for a few years) to St. Vincent's Jewelry center. Almost every trip to DTLA required a pit-stop to my favorite spot to eat, Clifton's Silver Spoon Cafeteria on 7th st.
CLIFTON'S SILVER SPOON? yes, the evidence is here in these photos I took from the net. Notice the address.

ABOVE YOU CAN SEE THE ADDRESS TO CLIFTONS CAFETERIA -SILVER SPOON EDITION AT 515 W. 7TH ST, NOW A RESTAURANT CALLED MAS MALO (MORE BAD) notice the exterior. The food was exactly the same as the Clifton's Cafeteria on Broadway and 7th, but this place felt like you were eating inside the TITANIC or some old school Luxury Steam liner from the past. The walls had musty oil paintings and the walls were a dark wood paneling that needed a good cleaning, but it was MY PLACE. I felt like a queen when I ate there. YES, it was smaller than the about-to-open, highly anticipated Clifton's (BROOKDALE) Cafeteria, but it was a spot where I came with my mom to have some quality moments away from the grime of my town and the outside. I can still taste the tangy lemonade, and the sugary but delicious frosting of the Chocolate, chocolate cake. My main dish was always Turkey dinner, the works of course, with stuffing, cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. Mind you, my mom was an immigrant from Mexico and her little girl had expensive taste. I wasn't happy with a corner taco, or a hot dog, I had to have Clifton's or I'd mope and mom complied. She usually had Turkey or chicken fried steak, my younger brother had nuggets and apple juice. The Smell of the place was always home to me. And we avoided IT'S Bigger Brother on Broadway because there were always mega-phone street preachers there, or aggressive bums and a mega-load of people yelling from their stands, hoping to get you into their cheapo clothing store. Back then DTLA was full of little shacks and stores that sold all kinds of crap, including magazine stands from Mexico and south America that always had a decapitated Cover Model, killed by the mafia or an angry mob doing street justice. The streets were always crowded with people going to and from work and with women and men in business suits, and lots of Armenian or Persians who own most of the jewelry shops my mom shopped at. St. Vincent's Jewelry Center was the mecca of cheap gold, gemstones and silver, there must have been 500 shops all next to each other owned by Chinese, Jewish people and other nationalities and my mom had her contacts there and also had to come have some bracelets and rings fixed upstairs. Anyway, here is a pic of Cliftons Brookdale, as it was in the 80s to the 2000's, and notice the Jewelry Shops around it. IT WAS REPORTED IN THE MEDIA THAT 3 GIRLS, DOING HOMEWORK, TOOK A CHANCE AND WROTE TO NOW-INCARCERATED MOB BOSS WHITEY BULGER AND HE WROTE BACK:
The letter says:
"I'm sorry but I can't help you with your school project -- There are many people more deserving of your time and interests. I'm a myth created by the media to help them generate Revenue and to hurt a relation because they didn't appreciate his independence and daring to support an agenda they opposed.
May I suggest you and Molly create a website about the heroic service men of Mass. that are patients in, for instance, Walter Reed Veteran Hospital -- good men isolated from society due to war wounds -- life for some in pain and loneliness -- hearing from school girls that care would do wonders for their morale + recovery.
Don't waste your time on such as I -- we are society's lower, best forgotten, not looked to for advice on 'Leadership'. I'm a 9th grade dropout from school and took the wrong road -- my brother 5 years younger applied himself in school and worked hard and spent 40 years in Mass State House and retired and was the President of Mass Senate in State House for second term and President of U. Mass after Retirement. Had 9 children all college graduates + 4 lawyers among them. A Better Man than I.
My life was wasted and spent foolishly, brought shame + suffering on my parents and siblings and will end soon -- Advice is a cheap commodity some seek it from me about crime -- I know only one thing for sure -- If you want to make crime pay -- 'Go to Law School.'"
